In Badminton, India won the first two opening matches in the quarter-final of the Thomas Cup against Chinese Taipei at Horsens in Denmark today.
Lakshya Sen beat Chou Tien Chen 18-21, 22-20, 21-17 after saving two match points. The doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty then defeated Chiu Hsiang Chieh and Wang Chi-Lin 23-21, 19-21, and 21-12 to extend the lead.
India will look to seal the tie when Ayush Shetty faces Lin Chun-Yi in the second singles. In the remaining matches, Hariharan Amsakarunan and M.R. Arjun will take on Liu Kuang Heng and Yang Po-Hsuan, while Kidambi Srikanth will take on Chi Yu Jen.
