A large number of students across Tripura participated in the state’s premier entrance examination for professional courses, as authorities ensured smooth conduct under strict supervision on Wednesday.
The Tripura Board of Joint Entrance Examination (TBJEE) successfully held the Tripura Joint Entrance Examination (TJEE) 2026 across multiple centres, witnessing the participation of 4,731 candidates. The examination serves as a crucial gateway for admission into engineering, veterinary, agricultural, and other professional degree programmes within the state.
According to official data, the total number of candidates included 2,086 male and 2,645 female aspirants, reflecting a notable rise in female participation. Among them, 604 candidates registered for the PCM group (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics), while 2,666 opted for the PCB group (Physics, Chemistry, Biology). Additionally, 1,461 students chose to appear for both groups, indicating a diverse academic preference among examinees.
To efficiently manage the examination process, authorities set up 15 centres across the state. West Tripura district accounted for the highest number with eight centres, while each of the remaining districts hosted one centre. The examination was conducted in three sessions: Physics and Chemistry from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, Biology from 1:30 PM to 2:15 PM, and Mathematics from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM.
TBJEE Chairman Dr. Shubhadip Pal, accompanied by senior officials, personally visited several examination centres to review arrangements and ensure adherence to guidelines. He expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the examination and confirmed that the results are likely to be announced in the last week of May.

Strict security arrangements, including surveillance systems and invigilation protocols, were implemented at all centres to maintain transparency and discipline. Officials reported that the examination concluded without any untoward incidents, highlighting effective coordination between administrative authorities and law enforcement agencies.
The successful conduct of TJEE 2026 marks another significant step in facilitating merit-based admissions and maintaining the integrity of the state’s higher education system.
