Assam has recorded 85.91% voter turnout and Keralam 78.27%, while Puducherry registered a turnout of 89.87% during the polling held for the assembly elections yesterday. Assam and Puducherry recorded the highest-ever poll participation. Previously, the highest poll participation in Assam was 84.67% in the 2016 Assembly elections, and for Puducherry, it was 86.19% in the 2011 Assembly elections.
According to the Election Commission’s data, the highest ever female voter participation was also recorded in Assam, Keralam and Puducherry. In Assam, the female voter turnout was 86.50%; in Keralam it was 81.19%, while Puducherry witnessed 91.40% female voter turnout.
