Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha warns Tipra Motha against hooliganism, alleging political intimidation ahead of TTAADC elections, reaffirming BJP’s commitment to peace, stability, and development under Narendra Modi’s leadership.
In a strong political statement ahead of the upcoming tribal council elections, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday issued a stern warning against what he described as “hooliganism and intimidation politics,” allegedly carried out by the regional party Tipra Motha.
Addressing a massive public gathering at Duski in the Teliamura subdivision, the Chief Minister asserted that no political force can sustain power through fear and coercion. The rally was organized in support of BJP candidates Billo Jamatia from Maharani Pur-Teliamura constituency and Rajesh Debbarma from Mandai-Pulinpur constituency.
Launching a direct attack on Tipra Motha, Dr. Saha accused the party of practicing double standards—publicly advocating peace while allegedly engaging in acts of political violence behind the scenes. He claimed that party supporters attempted to disrupt his election program by intimidating local residents and preventing them from attending the rally.
The Chief Minister further alleged that incidents of unrest, including reported firing, took place prior to his arrival at the venue. “Such activities clearly indicate a desperate attempt to disturb the peaceful environment of the state,” he said, adding that the people of Tripura would not tolerate such behavior under any circumstances.
In a sharp remark, Dr. Saha stated that “Motha has lost its mind,” accusing the party of trying to revive a culture of violence reminiscent of the turbulent political atmosphere of the 1970s. He emphasized that such regressive tactics have no place in modern democratic politics and warned that the public backlash could be severe.
Highlighting the progress made in restoring peace across the region, the Chief Minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his sustained efforts in bringing stability not only to Tripura but across the entire Northeast. He stressed that the current government remains committed to preserving this peace at any cost.
Dr. Saha expressed strong confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s electoral prospects, stating that threats and intimidation would not influence voters. “Once the public begins to respond, those engaging in such tactics will not even get a chance to escape,” he warned, signaling a firm stance against political violence.
The rally witnessed the presence of several prominent leaders, including BJP ST Morcha National President Sameer Oraon, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikash Debbarma, Assembly Chief Whip Kalyani Roy, and senior leader Pinaki Das Chowdhury.

The Chief Minister reiterated that despite any attempts to create fear or unrest, the BJP’s victory in the TTAADC elections remains inevitable. He called upon party workers and supporters to stand united against threats and ensure a peaceful and democratic electoral process.
