Sakhicharan Vidyaniketan NSS camp ends with impactful community service, awareness drives, and blood donation initiative, inaugurated by Olympian Dipa Karmakar, highlighting youth engagement, social responsibility, and vision for Viksit Bharat and India 2047.
A seven-day National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Camp organized by the NSS Unit of Sakhicharan Vidyaniketan concluded successfully on April 6, marking a week of active community service, youth engagement, and social awareness initiatives. The camp, held from March 31 to April 6, witnessed enthusiastic participation from student volunteers who contributed significantly to various outreach and developmental activities.
Throughout the week, NSS volunteers engaged in a wide range of programmes aimed at promoting social responsibility and community development. Key activities included village visits, cleanliness drives, and awareness campaigns focusing on disaster preparedness and management. These initiatives not only encouraged civic responsibility but also strengthened the bond between students and the local community.
A major highlight of the camp was the thematic discussion sessions centered on “My Bharat, Viksit Bharat and India in 2047.” These discussions provided a platform for young participants to exchange ideas about the nation’s future and their role in shaping a developed India. Volunteers also played an active role in facilitating youth registration through the My Bharat portal, further aligning their efforts with national youth empowerment initiatives.
The concluding day of the camp featured a Blood Donation Camp organized within the school premises. A total of 14 NSS volunteers came forward to donate blood voluntarily, reflecting a strong sense of humanitarian commitment. The camp was formally inaugurated by renowned Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar, whose presence inspired the volunteers and added significance to the event.
The programme was further graced by President’s Award-winning Programme Officer Moloy Laskar, who attended as the Special Guest. The event was presided over by the Headmistress of the institution, Subrata Nandi Ganguly. In their addresses, the dignitaries highlighted the importance of youth participation in nation-building and emphasized the value of service-oriented initiatives in shaping responsible citizens.
Speakers at the event commended the dedication, discipline, and teamwork demonstrated by the NSS volunteers throughout the camp. They stressed that such programmes play a crucial role in instilling leadership qualities, social awareness, and a sense of duty among young individuals.
The successful execution of the NSS Special Camp reflects the commitment of Sakhicharan Vidyaniketan towards fostering holistic education that extends beyond academics. The school authority expressed its intent to continue organizing similar community-oriented programmes in the future to nurture socially conscious and proactive youth.
