Tripura DIT launches Sadhana Saptah 2026 under Mission Karmayogi, promoting digital governance, AI awareness, skill development, and capacity building for officials through workshops, webinars, and training sessions for a future-ready administration.
The Directorate of Information Technology (DIT), Government of Tripura, on Monday formally launched the observance of Sadhana Saptah 2026 under the Centre’s Mission Karmayogi initiative, marking a major step toward strengthening the skills and capabilities of government officials in the state.
The week-long programme, being observed from April 2 to April 8, was inaugurated at the Smart Training Centre in Agartala by Chief Secretary Jitendra Kumar Sinha in the presence of senior officials and staff members of the department.
Addressing the inaugural session, Sinha stressed that continuous capacity building has become essential in modern governance. He said that civil servants can no longer depend only on traditional methods of administration and must regularly update their knowledge and technical skills to keep pace with rapidly changing technologies and increasing administrative responsibilities.
According to the Chief Secretary, the growing use of digital tools in governance requires public officials to become more adaptable, informed and technologically skilled. He pointed out that the responsible use of emerging technologies, especially artificial intelligence, can significantly improve public service delivery, decision-making and administrative efficiency.
However, Sinha also warned that the use of such technologies must be accompanied by strict attention to data security, transparency and accountability. He said that government departments must ensure that digital systems are used in a secure and ethical manner while maintaining public trust.
He further stated that Mission Karmayogi has been designed to build a responsive, efficient and future-ready administration capable of meeting new challenges in governance. The initiative, launched by the Central Government, aims to transform the functioning of civil services by encouraging continuous learning, professional development and skill enhancement.
Special Secretary of the OBC Welfare Department, Kuntal Das, who also attended the programme, highlighted the importance of the initiative and praised the active involvement of the Directorate of Information Technology in the observance of Sadhana Saptah.
Director of Information Technology Jeya Ragul Geshan B said that Sadhana Saptah is intended to promote a culture of lifelong learning among government employees. He said the initiative supports the development of a future-ready administration by encouraging officials to continuously improve both their technical and administrative capabilities.
He referred to the iGOT Karmayogi platform as a powerful digital learning tool that allows officials to access structured and flexible training modules. According to him, the Directorate of Information Technology has already achieved complete onboarding on the platform, ensuring that all officials are able to participate in the learning process.
As part of the week-long observance, the department has organised a series of webinars, workshops and seminars designed to improve the competencies of officials across various areas of administration.
Among the major sessions scheduled during the week is a webinar on the secure use of artificial intelligence tools in official communication. The session is being conducted by the National e-Governance Division and is expected to help officials understand how to safely and effectively use AI-based systems in their daily work.
The programme also includes an online workshop on bid process management and project implementation conducted by the National Institute for Smart Government. In addition, a seminar on bill processing and payment workflows in government systems has been organised to improve administrative efficiency and accuracy.
Officials said that all staff members have been encouraged to complete at least four hours of learning during the week through guided sessions and self-paced modules available on the iGOT Karmayogi platform.
