Tripura CM Manik Saha accuses Tipra Motha of creating unrest and corruption ahead of TTAADC elections, urging voters to reject fear politics and support BJP for development, stability, and tribal welfare in crucial ADC polls.

Manik Saha, Chief Minister of Tripura, on Friday launched a strong political attack on Tipra Motha Party, alleging that the party is attempting to create unrest ahead of the crucial Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections.

Addressing a public rally at Gabardi Bazar, Dr. Saha warned that any attempt to disturb peace would be dealt with strictly under the law. He stated that maintaining stability remains the government’s top priority and emphasized that authorities would not hesitate to take necessary legal action against those involved in unlawful activities.

“The main aim of Tipra Motha is to create instability before the ADC elections. If anyone tries to create disturbances, they will not be spared. The law will take its own course,” the Chief Minister asserted during his speech.

Dr. Saha also accused the opposition party of misleading voters through political propaganda and false promises. According to him, the people of Tripura have become more aware and can now see through what he described as “political deception.” He stressed that the upcoming ADC elections are critical as they will shape the future of the tribal administration in the state.

Calling upon voters to exercise their democratic rights without fear, the Chief Minister urged them to cast their votes early and resist any attempts at intimidation. “People should not be influenced by fear or force. Democracy must prevail, and voters must come forward fearlessly,” he added.

Highlighting the role of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dr. Saha described it as the only reliable political force capable of ensuring development and safeguarding the rights of tribal communities in the region. He claimed that tribal people across various constituencies are increasingly showing trust in the BJP, with many joining the party in large numbers.

Referring to recent political developments, he noted that similar public support was visible in the Pekuajala–Janmejoy Nagar constituency, where voters reportedly expressed confidence in BJP candidates. He said this growing support reflects a shift in public sentiment and a rejection of what he termed as “divisive politics.”

In a sharp criticism, the Chief Minister alleged that Tipra Motha had established a record of corruption during its tenure in the TTAADC. He claimed that funds meant for development were misused under the pretext of slogans such as “Thansa,” which he described as misleading and ineffective.

“Over the past five years, they have only focused on looting funds instead of working for the welfare of tribal people. Development has taken a backseat,” Dr. Saha alleged.

He further accused the party of encouraging a culture of intimidation and hooliganism, drawing comparisons with political practices in other states. According to him, such tactics would not succeed in gaining public support.

“People will never support politics based on fear and force. Burning houses or forcing shops to close cannot stop the BJP’s victory. The public wants peace and development,” he said.

Dr. Saha also reiterated that the central leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has consistently prioritized the welfare of tribal communities. He emphasized that the BJP government is committed to inclusive development and better governance.

The Chief Minister also addressed the issue of “Greater Tipraland,” stating that while such demands are raised repeatedly, no political objective can be achieved without democratic support. He underscored that in a democracy, the final decision lies with the people.

Urging voters to remain vigilant, Dr. Saha warned that there might be attempts to disrupt the electoral process. However, he assured that both the government and the Election Commission are committed to ensuring free and fair elections.

“The public will not tolerate misinformation or intimidation. Those who try to create unrest will face legal consequences,” he concluded.

The rally was attended by several senior BJP leaders, including Higher Education Minister Kishore Burman and other local representatives, who echoed the Chief Minister’s call for a development-focused government in the TTAADC.
