State Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 at Tripura Legislative Assembly highlights youth participation in democracy. Minister Ratan Lal Nath urges young citizens to lead India’s development, strengthen governance, and shape the nation’s future before the 2047 vision.

The State Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 was held at the historic premises of the Tripura Legislative Assembly, bringing together young minds, policymakers, and legislators to discuss the role of youth in shaping the future of India. The event emphasized democratic participation, responsible citizenship, and the crucial role of young citizens in nation-building.

Delivering the keynote address, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath highlighted the importance of youth participation in politics and governance. Addressing an enthusiastic gathering of students and young delegates, Nath said democracy thrives only when honest, educated, and responsible citizens actively participate in the democratic process.

India achieved independence in 1947, and by 2047 we must strive to become the number one nation in the world,” Nath said, referring to the long-term national development vision. “The next 22 years will be decisive in laying the foundation for a strong, progressive, and inclusive India,” he added, urging young citizens to step forward with courage and responsibility.

The minister stressed that democracy is not limited to the act of voting. According to him, it involves moral responsibility, respect for differing opinions, and the courage to stand for truth and justice. He encouraged the youth to engage constructively in political discussions and policy-making processes that shape the nation’s future.

During his address, Nath also highlighted several challenges facing the country, including poverty, unemployment, illiteracy, and discrimination. However, he said these challenges are gradually being addressed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He pointed out that government initiatives aimed at economic growth, social welfare, and educational development are helping reduce these long-standing issues.

Emphasizing inclusive development, Nath underlined the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for all sections of society. He said rural schools must be equipped with modern technology, including laptops and digital learning resources, to bridge the urban-rural education gap. At the same time, farmers should be provided with financial security and adequate support systems to strengthen the agricultural sector.

Women’s safety and empowerment also formed an important part of his speech. Nath stressed that protecting women’s rights and ensuring their participation in education, employment, and leadership roles are essential for building a strong and equitable society.

Our greatest strength is our youth,” Nath stated. “If guided by morality, integrity, and humanity, the younger generation will lead India into a new era of progress and prosperity.”

The Youth Parliament event was attended by several prominent political leaders and dignitaries. Among those present were Speaker-in-Charge Ram Prasad Paul, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Tinku Roy, SC Welfare Minister Sudhangshu Das, Chief Whip Kalyani Saha Roy, Cooperation Minister Sukla Charan Noatia, and MLA Chitta Ranjan Debbarma.

The program witnessed active participation from students representing different educational institutions across Tripura. Participants took part in mock parliamentary debates, discussions, and policy presentations, simulating the functioning of democratic institutions.

Organizers said the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament aims to inspire young citizens to take an active role in public affairs and social development. The initiative encourages students to understand parliamentary procedures, democratic values, and the responsibilities that come with citizenship.

By providing a platform for debate, discussion, and leadership development, the Youth Parliament seeks to nurture future leaders who can contribute meaningfully to India’s democratic system.
