Tripura farmers receive Rs 46 crore under the 22nd instalment of PM-KISAN as Prime Minister Narendra Modi transfers Rs 18,630 crore nationwide. Over 2.16 lakh farmers in the state benefit from the direct financial support scheme.

Tripura’s farming community is set to receive a major financial boost as Rs 46 crore 36 lakh 34 thousand will be directly credited to the bank accounts of 2.16 lakh farmers under the 22nd instalment of the flagship Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme.

The announcement was made during a state-level programme held at the State Agriculture Research Station in AD Nagar. The event was organized in virtual synchronisation with the national programme addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Guwahati, Assam, on Friday.

Speaking at the programme, Tripura’s Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath confirmed that the financial assistance would directly reach farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mechanism. According to him, the initiative continues to play a crucial role in strengthening the financial stability of cultivators across the state.

At the national level, Prime Minister Modi digitally released the 22nd instalment of PM-KISAN, transferring Rs 18,630 crore to the bank accounts of more than 9.32 crore farmers across India. The scheme, which provides financial support to small and marginal farmers, remains one of the largest direct benefit programmes for the agricultural sector.

Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha, who attended the programme, expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister on behalf of the farmers of the state. He noted that the financial support provided through the scheme continues to significantly benefit rural households.

Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated development projects worth Rs 19,680 crore in Assam and simultaneously released the 22nd instalment of PM-KISAN for more than 9.3 crore farmers across the country. On this occasion, I extend heartfelt thanks to the Prime Minister on behalf of the farmers of Tripura,” the Chief Minister said.

Officials highlighted that since the implementation of the PM-KISAN scheme in Tripura in 2019, a total of 2,85,521 farmers have received financial assistance amounting to Rs 931 crore 53 lakh up to the 21st instalment. The scheme has steadily expanded its reach, ensuring that farmers receive financial aid directly in their bank accounts without intermediaries.

Minister Nath emphasized that the scheme has proven instrumental in helping farmers purchase agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and equipment, while also supporting household needs during critical farming seasons. The entire financial burden of the scheme is borne by the Central Government, ensuring uninterrupted support to farmers.

He further stated that the release of the latest instalment will not only strengthen the agricultural economy of the state but also reaffirm the Centre’s commitment to improving the livelihoods of farmers. By ensuring timely financial transfers, the government aims to empower cultivators and encourage sustainable agricultural practices across rural areas.

The PM-KISAN scheme, launched in 2019, continues to remain a cornerstone of the government’s strategy to enhance farmers’ income and provide financial security to agricultural households across India.

With the latest instalment, thousands of farmers in Tripura are expected to gain immediate financial relief, enabling them to invest in their fields and sustain agricultural productivity.
