The Legal Aid Clinic of ICFAI University Tripura organized a significant legal awareness program titled “Vidhiyukta: Framing Path to Justice” on February 20, 2026, at its university campus. The initiative brought together academicians, legal professionals, students, and members of the legal fraternity to deliberate on contemporary issues related to justice, legal literacy, and social responsibility.
The primary objective of the program was to promote awareness about the importance of legal literacy, equitable access to justice, and the role of individuals and institutions in upholding constitutional values and ethical practices. The event reflected the university’s continued commitment to community engagement and strengthening the legal consciousness of society.
Advocate Shri Pramod Sahu from the District Legal Services Authority delivered the keynote address. In his speech, he emphasized the transformative power of legal awareness in empowering citizens and fostering social harmony. He highlighted the need to bridge the gap between complex legal systems and public understanding, encouraging proactive public participation in building a just and equitable society.
Dr. A. Ranganath, Registrar of the university, addressed the gathering and underscored the evolving dimensions of justice in modern society. He spoke about the critical importance of robust legal frameworks in addressing emerging social challenges and urged collaborative efforts among educational institutions, legal professionals, and civil society to strengthen justice delivery mechanisms.
Dr. Nabarun Bhattacharjee, Principal of the Faculty of Law, shared insights into legal rights and responsibilities, particularly focusing on access to justice for marginalized communities. He emphasized ethical governance and called upon the youth to actively participate in justice-oriented initiatives. According to him, informed and socially responsible young citizens can play a crucial role in promoting fairness and accountability within democratic institutions.
Dr. Anindita Choudhury, Faculty In-Charge of the Legal Aid Clinic, also graced the program and coordinated the event. The session witnessed interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing activities, where participants engaged in thoughtful dialogue on constitutional values, ethical conduct, and the social responsibilities of legal professionals.
Students expressed keen interest in understanding the practical aspects of legal aid and community outreach. The interactive format of the program encouraged critical thinking and reinforced the importance of legal education beyond the classroom.
