Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb alleged that both CPM and Trinamool Congress were trying to incite communal sentiment and create a Hindu Muslim divide.
Although he did not specifically take the name of the parties he nevertheless dropped enough hint as to which parties he was targeting. He was addressing a public rally in Kailasahar where as many as 2,357 voters of 795 families joined the saffron camp.
In an oblique reference to CPM politburo member and Opposition leader Manik Sarkar the Chief Minister said “the former Chief Minister of 20 long years has triggered planned violence in Dhanpur to put the blame on a particular community. The present state government does not discriminate between the Hindus and Muslim.
“Those who could not arrange drinking water for the people during their rules for decades, and left a huge financial burden on the present government are now trying to incite communal feelings in the state to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere to gail political mileage”, the Chief Minister said.
He also slammed the Trinamool Congress for its ‘attempt’ to fuel communal tension in the state.
“Leaders of a political party from other state were coming here and trying hard to create ‘religious division’ among the people of this state. I appeal all to remain alert about their nefarious design”, he said adding that ‘Votebank politics’ in the state would not succeed”.
“From the state they were coming is now lagging behind us in terms of development”, he said.
The Chief Minister also dwelt on the development activities that the present government initiated to draw the comparison with the previous Left Front government.
As it appears the Chief Minister had already begun strengthening the party position from the front.
After Sabroom in South Tripura district, now it was Kailashahar in Unakoti district where as many as 2357 voters of 795 families joined the saffron camp.
The programme was attended by Minister Bhagaban Das, MLA Sudhangshu Das, MLA Rampada Jamatia and other local leaders. The rally was held at RKI ground, Kailashahar.
