Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025 draws ₹4.48 lakh crore investment interest, boosting industrial growth, employment, and infrastructure across India’s North Eastern Region through strategic sectors and the UNNATI industrial incentive scheme.

The Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) has taken a major step toward accelerating economic growth by organizing the Rising Northeast Investors Summit 2025, a flagship initiative aimed at catalyzing trade, investment, and industrial development across the North Eastern Region of India.

The summit identified several high-potential focus sectors to attract both domestic and international investment. These sectors include Tourism and Hospitality, Agro-Food Processing and allied industries, Textiles, Handloom and Handicrafts, Healthcare, Education and Skill Development, Information Technology and IT-enabled Services, Entertainment and Sports, Infrastructure and Logistics, and Energy. Together, these sectors reflect the region’s strategic strengths, resource availability, and long-term development potential.

According to official data, the summit and its pre-event roadshows collectively generated investment interests worth ₹4.48 lakh crore. These commitments came in the form of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), Letters of Intent, and qualified investment leads from private investors, public sector undertakings, and major industrial conglomerates. The proposed investments are expected to significantly enhance industrial capacity while creating large-scale employment opportunities for local populations.

State governments across the North Eastern Region are actively engaging with investors to ensure the timely grounding and implementation of these investment proposals. To create a business-friendly environment, several facilitation measures have been introduced, including single-window clearance systems, the establishment of dedicated investment promotion agencies, the creation of land banks, and the provision of investment incentives tailored to various sectors.

To further strengthen the industrial ecosystem and attract sustained private investment, the Government of India is implementing the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization (UNNATI) Scheme. This flagship scheme offers a comprehensive incentive framework designed to encourage manufacturing and service-based industries in the region. The incentives under the UNNATI Scheme include Capital Investment Incentives, Central Capital Interest Subvention Incentives, and Manufacturing and Services Linked Incentives.

These policy measures aim to reduce investment risks, lower operational costs, and improve overall competitiveness in the North Eastern Region. By aligning infrastructure development with industrial policy, the government seeks to position the region as a strategic growth engine for the national economy.
