Tripura government reshuffles nine IAS and TCS officers, assigning key roles in taxation, health, industry, and district administration to boost governance efficiency. The latest transfer order strengthens service delivery and enhances leadership across crucial state departments.

The Tripura government has assigned new roles to nine senior civil servants from the IAS and TCS cadres. The comprehensive transfer and posting order, issued by the General Administration (Personnel & Training) Department on November 15, marks a strategic attempt to strengthen key administrative, financial, and developmental sectors across the state.

According to the official notification undersigned by J. Datta, Under Secretary to the Government of Tripura, the reshuffle affects crucial positions related to tax administration, health services, urban governance, commercial development, and district-level supervision. The move is seen as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery and operational continuity across departments.

Key Administrative Reassignments Announced

One of the most significant changes involves Chiranjeev Anand, who has been serving as the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Jampuijala. Anand has now been appointed as the Commissioner of Taxes, Agartala — a role considered vital for monitoring state revenue and tax enforcement. His appointment comes as Akinchan Sarkar, Additional Secretary of the Finance Department, has been relieved from the additional charge of Commissioner of Taxes. This transition is expected to streamline the functioning of the department and improve fiscal oversight.

To fill the vacancy created at Jampuijala, the government has posted Amitabha Chakma, who previously served as Joint Director of the Urban Development Department in Agartala. Chakma’s administrative experience in urban planning and infrastructure management is anticipated to bring renewed efficiency to the Jampuijala subdivision.

Reshuffle in District Administration and Industry Sector

In another key development, Deepak Kumar, who was serving as SDM Kanchanpur, has been transferred to the post of Director, Industries and Commerce, Agartala. Along with this new role, Kumar will also hold the additional charge of Managing Director of Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Ltd. His dual responsibilities underline the government’s focus on strengthening industrial growth, investment promotion, and economic development within the state.

To maintain administrative continuity in Kanchanpur, Ashis Biswas, currently Additional SDM of Belonia, has been assigned the charge of SDM Kanchanpur. Meanwhile, Swarup K. Paul, DC at the SDM’s office in Udaipur, has been posted as Additional SDM of Belonia, marking a smooth transitional chain in the district-level administration.

Major Changes in Health Administration and Ayushman Bharat Mission

One of the most prominent changes relates to the health sector, especially the Ayushman Bharat scheme and associated state health missions. Gugulavath Sharath Nayak, the SDM of Kamalpur, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ayushman Bharat in Tripura. Additionally, Nayak will hold three crucial health-related charges — Executive Secretary of Tripura Health Protection Society (THPS) and State Mission Director of Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). His multi-dimensional role reflects the government’s priority on improving healthcare accessibility, digital health integration, and public welfare schemes.

With this development, Saju Vaheed A, Mission Director of the National Health Mission (NHM), has been relieved from his additional responsibilities as CEO of Ayushman Bharat, Executive Secretary of THPS, and State Mission Director of ABDM. This move is expected to reduce administrative overload and allow more focused execution of NHM programmes.

Realignments in Kamalpur and Medical Administration

To fill the administrative gap in Kamalpur, Gideon Molsom, who served as Deputy Director (Administration) at AGMC & GBP Hospital, Agartala, has been appointed as the SDM Kamalpur. Molsom will also serve as Executive Officer (EO) of the Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat, adding to his responsibilities in local administrative governance.

The reshuffle, spanning multiple sectors, aims to ensure improved workflow, accountability, and departmental synergy across the state. Such periodic administrative restructuring is considered essential for maintaining governance momentum and adapting to evolving developmental needs.

A Forward-Looking Administrative Step

Officials stated that the new postings are expected to bring operational clarity, reduce administrative overlaps, and reinforce leadership in critical segments of state governance. With new responsibilities entrusted to experienced civil servants, the Tripura government looks to push forward with its development agendas, focusing on public welfare, economic growth, and decentralized governance.
