India’s Young Shuttlers Shine at Badminton Asia U17 & U15 Championships

Must Read

India is enjoying an excellent run at the Badminton Asia U17 & U15 Championships in Chengdu, China. The biggest highlight is that India is guaranteed a gold medal in the Girls’ U17 event, as both Diksha Sudhakar and Lakshya Rajesh won their semi-finals in straight sets and will face each other in the final. This ensures India will take home both the gold and silver medals in that category. Adding to the success, Shaina Manimuthu has reached the final of the Girls’ U15 event, giving India a chance at a second gold medal. Shaina fought through a tough three-game battle to reach the final, where she will now take on a Japanese opponent for the title. While the girls have led the charge, India’s campaigns in the U17 Mixed Doubles and U17 Boys’ Singles ended in the semi-finals, with both pairs bowing out at that stage. Overall, India has already secured five medals and now has at least two finalists guaranteed.
