The nomination process has gained momentum in Bihar, as tomorrow is the last day for filing nominations for the first phase of the Bihar Assembly elections. With this, election campaigning has also picked up pace. Senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary filed his nomination papers today from the Tarapur Assembly constituency in Munger. Meanwhile, Tej Pratap Yadav, son of RJD President Lalu Prasad Yadav, will file his nomination from the Mahua constituency in Vaishali district today. He has floated a new party, Janashakti Janata Dal.
Former Union Minister Ram Kripal Yadav will also file his nomination papers from the Danapur Assembly constituency in Patna district today. Addressing an election rally in Danapur, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath said, any state where the NDA’s double-engine government is formed has witnessed development and improvement in the law and order situation. He cited Uttar Pradesh as an example and alleged that under the governments of the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal, the people suffered from crime and mafia rule. Janata Dal (United) national president and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will also launch his election campaign today. He is scheduled to address election rallies in Bahadurpur in Darbhanga and Sarai Ranjan in Samastipur.
