Trinamool Congress (TMC) will carry out a ground survey in all eight districts of the state before embarking on the wholesome political activities for the 2023 elections, said Susmita Dev in a press conference at a city hotel on Thursday. The political strategies of the Trinamool Congress will be formalized on the basis of the survey report.
Sushmita Dev who had recently joined the Trinamool Congress has been given the charge of Tripura by Mamata Banerjee. She will be staying here for some time, perhaps, till September 15 and work to strengthen the party.
We want to raise the organization up to grassroots with such people who have acceptance,” said Dev.
During her stay Dev will be travelling across the state meeting people , leaders and then will file the initial report to All India Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee based on which the decision on formation of the organization would be taken.
Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee in his recent visit to Tripura had announced that he would soon announce a full-fledged committee for Tripura unit but the party failed to do so far. In this context, Dev assured that the party would have a full-fledged organization in Tripura soon.
“Trinamool Congress is receiving a huge response from the people in Tripura. The party will strengthen its organization within the next few months,” she told a press conference held in a city hotel.
She also said that an anti-Modi wave was going on across the country. In a recent survey, she said, it came to light that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was losing his popularity.
Dev then stated that the BJP government and Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb had failed to fulfil the poll promises.
“I still remember that before the 2018 elections in Tripura, BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma used to say that people will get jobs through missed calls. After the formation of the government, neither Himanta Biswa Sarma comes to Tripura nor do the people get jobs through missed calls. BJP delivered only fake promises to win the elections,” she told the media.
In the press conference, Dev was accompanied by West Bengal TMC leader Bratya Basu, TMC MP Pratima Mandal and another party leader Sujata Mandal.
Meanwhile, the West Bengal TMC leaders accompanied by state unit leader Subal Bhowmik visited Mata Tripura Sundari temple in Udaipur earlier on Thursday. Later in the evening, they also met the family of late Siuli Chakraborty, who was a member of 10,323 terminated teachers’ group, at Abhoynagar.
It is worthy to mention here that poll strategist Prashant Kishore’s I-PAC is continuing its survey across the state in various forms. Sometimes, the I-PAC members are taking views of people over phone calls; sometimes they are directly going to public places or boarding passenger vehicles to directly interact with the people.
