CPM activists led by former Minister Manik Dey and former CEM Radha Charan Debbarma held a protest demonstration in front of the Police Headquarters in Agartala on Thursday in protest against the demolition of Krishnagar Party Office under Ranirbazar on Wednesday night.

Speaking to the media, Manik Dey said, the situation in Jirania which has remained volatile since 2018 Assembly, took a turn for worse after the MLA of Majlishpur was announced as a Minister on August 30 last.

“Miscreants destroyed paddy crops of a CPM worker, set the thaw stacks of another CPM supporter after the announcement. On Wednesday night, miscreants brought a Drudger and started breaking down the Party Office”, Dey alleged.

He also claimed that he had informed the Police Officials including the SDPO. However “ironically, Police did not take steps to save the Party office or prevent the miscreants”, he alleged.

“Local people of the area witnessed the misdeed of miscreants and inaction of Police. It is shameful for the Police”, Dey commented and condemned the party office demolition.

Radha Charan Debbarma also condemned and protested the party Office demolition.
