Tripura CM Manik Saha announced projects worth ₹800 crore, a ₹7,000 crore infrastructure budget, and 10 new women’s hostels, stressing doorstep delivery of services under the BJP government’s vision for Atmanirbhar Tripura and Viksit Tripura-2047.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday reaffirmed his government’s commitment to bringing development and welfare to every household in the state. Highlighting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government’s vision, he announced that projects worth ₹800 crore have been inaugurated and foundation stones laid in recent months, with a focus on strengthening the state’s infrastructure and ensuring doorstep delivery of services.
At a public function in Agartala, the Chief Minister inaugurated 14 projects and laid the foundation stones for 5 projects under the Social Welfare and Social Education (SWSE) Department. He emphasized that the government’s relentless efforts are aimed at reaching the “last person in society,” ensuring no citizen is left behind in accessing welfare benefits.
Budgetary Push for Growth
Dr. Saha said that the state budget for the current financial year (2025–26) has allocated ₹7,000 crore specifically for infrastructure development. He underscored that without adequate infrastructure, long-term development cannot be achieved. “If infrastructure is not developed, the people of the state will face difficulties in the coming days. Therefore, our government has given it the highest priority,” he added.
Vision for Viksit Tripura by 2047
In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Viksit Bharat 2047 vision, Tripura became the first state in Northeast India and fifth in the country to prepare a roadmap for development leading up to 2047. On August 22, the state government unveiled the ‘Viksit Tripura-2047 Vision Document’, outlining key developmental milestones to transform Tripura into a self-reliant and prosperous state over the next two decades.
Chief Minister Saha noted that ‘Atmanirbhar Tripura’ is the guiding principle of the state government, inspired by the national ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ movement. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has repeatedly said that Atmanirbhar Bharat is not just a government programme, but a mass movement. We in Tripura are determined to translate this philosophy into reality,” Saha said.
Vocal for Local: Boosting Local Economy
The Chief Minister also announced that the state has adopted the ‘Vocal for Local’ strategy, giving preference to local products in government procurement and encouraging citizens to support indigenous industries. This policy, he said, will not only create jobs but also strengthen the state’s economy from within.
Focus on Women and Social Welfare
Reiterating the government’s commitment to inclusive growth, Dr. Saha revealed that 10 new working women’s hostels will be established across different districts of the state. Each hostel will accommodate 100 women, with modern facilities, at a cost of ₹11.40 crore per hostel, totaling ₹114 crore.

“These hostels will provide safe and modern living spaces for working women and further empower them in their professional and personal journeys,” the Chief Minister said.
The CM also highlighted achievements of the SWSE Department, which has issued disability identity cards to 41,694 differently-abled persons (divyangs) in the state. This initiative enables beneficiaries to access multiple government schemes and welfare benefits. Furthermore, 14,575 differently-abled citizens are receiving monthly social allowances of ₹2,000 under SWSE initiatives.
Ensuring Doorstep Delivery
CM Saha stressed that the BJP government in Tripura is working with a mission-oriented approach to ensure that government services reach every doorstep, particularly in remote and marginalized communities. By focusing on infrastructure, social welfare, women’s empowerment, and inclusivity, the government aims to set a model of holistic development in the Northeast.

He concluded by saying, “The BJP government is committed to ensuring that every citizen of Tripura, irrespective of their background, feels the benefits of governance. We are not only working for today but also laying the foundation for a brighter tomorrow.”
With its ambitious budgetary allocation, emphasis on infrastructure, and people-centric projects, the Tripura government under CM Manik Saha is pushing towards creating a self-reliant, progressive, and inclusive state in line with India’s 2047 development goals.
