The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha have been adjourned sine die today. With this, Monsoon Session of Parliament which began on 21st of last month, concluded.Briefing media at the Parliament House after completion of the session in New Delhi today, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju has said that the Monsoon Session of Parliament was extremely fruitful for the country and the government.  Mr Rijiju said, but many new MPs were not allowed to speak in Parliament and the opposition itself is responsible for this. He criticized the opposition saying they disrupted the House a lot and did not participate in the scheduled time for discussion. The Minister expressed displeasure that the opposition did not allow Members to congratulate Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian to visit the International Space Station. He said, protesting or disagreeing is a democratic way to express your views, but obstructing and stopping the government from working in Parliament is undemocratic.
During the monsoon session, the productivity of the Lok Sabha was 31 per cent and in Rajya Sabha it was 39 per cent. During the session 14 bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha. 12 Bills were passed by Lok Sabha and 15 Bills by Rajya Sabha. A Total of 15 bills were passed by the Parliament.
