Must Read

The Election Commission has said that over 74 percent of around 7.90 crore electors in Bihar have submitted their Enumeration Forms during the last 17 days of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in the state. The Commission added that forms can be submitted until the 25th of this month.

The poll body said, in the second phase of SIR drive, booth level officers are going house-to-house to assist the electors and collect their filled Enumeration Forms.

It said that field level functionaries including 38 District Election Officers, Electoral registration officers covering all 243 Assembly Constituencies and 963 Assistant Electoral Registration Officers are regularly supervising the progress of SIR.

Akashvani correspondent reports, the voter list purification campaign under Special Intensive Revision is moving at a rapid pace in Bihar.

Over 74% of voters have already submitted their forms. To accelerate the revision campaign in urban areas, municipal commissioners, including in Patna, have been given the status of Assistant District Election Officer for the first time.

According to the Election Commission of India, enumeration forms have been collected from three out of every four voters in the state. Over one lakh Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are engaged in this campaign, and active participation from political parties is also evident.

Various political parties have deployed more than 1.5 lakh booth-level agents. The Election Commission’s ECI Net application has significantly expedited the special intensive revision process. Over 4 lakh volunteers have been deployed to assist elderly, divyang, and ill voters in the campaign.
