In Bihar, a team of senior officials of Election Commission of India (ECI) held separate meetings at different district headquarters with Commissionerate level machinery yesterday and discussed ongoing special intensive review (SIR) and other things related to upcoming assembly elections.
The entire door to door verification exercise of special intensive review will be conducted through Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The ECI-NET app will provide an online facility to electorates for grievance redressal. Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Maneesh Garg informed officials that for voter’s convenience a new feature “Book a call with BLO” has been added to ECI-NET app.
During the separate meetings Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates and other election functionaries exchanged their views during the meeting concerned with SIR and election with members of the ECI. The three-day visit of the Election Commission of India team also concluded yesterday.
Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Maneesh Garg was heading the team of nine members. On the last day extensive meetings were also held with Electoral Registration Officers and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers at different places regarding smooth conduct of Special Intensive Review (SIR). The SIR is a door-to-door campaign to ensure correctness of electoral rolls in the state.
In Patna, advisor to the Election commission of India N N Butolia held a meeting with officials of Patna and Magadh Division along with Chief Electoral Officer Vinod Singh Gunjiyal. Senior Deputy Election Commissioner Maneesh Garg held meeting with officials of Bhagalpur and Munger division at Begusarai. Meetings were also held in Motihari and Purnia with divisional officers.
