Tripura CM Manik Saha announces AI integration across all sectors to boost efficiency. From healthcare to education, the state embraces technology, with new schools, upgraded infrastructure, and student-focused reforms. Saha highlights youth potential, praises PM Modi’s initiatives, and urges self-reliance through knowledge and yoga.
Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Monday emphasized the state government’s ongoing efforts to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) across various sectors to enhance operational efficiency and performance. Addressing a public function, CM Saha, who also holds the Education and Health & Family Welfare portfolios, shared how AI is reshaping state governance and the lives of Tripura’s youth.
“In every sector of Tripura, AI is already being introduced to ensure better results and enhanced productivity,” said the Chief Minister. He pointed out that even in critical fields like healthcare, medical students are now using AI tools to support activities in Operation Theatres. “Earlier, we only relied on textbooks, but now students have access to smart classes,” he added, highlighting the technological transformation in education and healthcare.
Dr. Saha praised the capabilities of Tripura’s youth, urging them to contribute to the nation rather than seeking opportunities abroad. Citing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, he said, “As PM Modi says, ‘those who have knowledge will lead the country.’ There is no limit to acquiring knowledge, and our youth must remain in India to work for its betterment.”
Education Transformation Underway
Focusing on educational reforms, the Chief Minister announced that 30 new schools will be established in the current financial year at a cost of ₹264 crore. He further stated that the Education Department has adopted the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) curriculum and launched initiatives like ‘Super 30’ to enhance academic excellence.
“Students today face less stress due to progressive measures. For instance, through Prime Minister Modi’s initiative ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha,’ students are taught how to stay stress-free during exams. We have adopted similar methods in Tripura, and the results have been positive. Stress levels among students have significantly reduced,” he said.
He also credited Modi’s ability to connect with the people through platforms like ‘Mann Ki Baat’, calling it an example of impactful leadership. “Someday, PM Modi’s contributions will be written in golden letters in history and even studied academically,” Dr. Saha added.
Infrastructure and Welfare Initiatives
CM Saha informed the gathering that infrastructure in nearly 350 schools was upgraded in the 2024–25 fiscal year with an investment of ₹80 crore. Additionally, around 44 schools received new buildings, and bicycles were distributed to girl students as part of the government’s efforts to promote education among underprivileged groups.
These developments form part of the state’s broader strategy to make quality education accessible and to bridge the urban-rural divide in school infrastructure.
Focus on Holistic Development
As a dental surgeon himself, CM Saha also underlined the importance of health and fitness in academic success. He urged students to engage in regular physical exercise and yoga to enhance their mental and physical well-being. “Through exercise and yoga, students can understand themselves better and improve concentration and memory,” he noted.
He lauded PM Modi’s efforts to revive ancient Indian practices such as yoga, saying, “When he became the Prime Minister, he took the initiative to bring back practices that had long been forgotten but were essential to India’s cultural heritage.”
A Technologically Driven Vision
The Chief Minister’s remarks underscore Tripura’s push toward a digitally enabled future. The introduction of AI in core sectors such as health, education, and administration represents a significant step forward for the state, traditionally known for its challenges in infrastructure and accessibility.
