Distribution of various walking aids among Divyangjans and special seminar on Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana and Mukhyamantri Matru Pusthi Upahar Scheme was organized at Muktdhara Auditorium yesterday as part of Prati Ghare Sushason campaign. Sabhadhipati of West Tripura Zilla Parishad Antara Sarkar Deb inaugurated the programme organized by the office of West Tripura District Social Welfare and Social Education. Speaking at the programme, Sabhadhipati Antara Sarkar Deb said that the goal of Prati Ghare Sushason campaign is to give benefits of schemes to everyone through joint efforts of all. She urged everyone to come forward to make this campaign programme a success. She said we have gathered here to implement the welfare schemes aimed at the development of Divyangjan brothers and sisters. She said, Divyangjans were once neglected in the society. Many of them were deprived of essential facilities. The present government is sincere about their overall welfare. Efforts have been made to raise the standard of living of Divyangjans.
At the programme, District Magistrate of West Tripura Debapriya Bardhan congratulated the organizer for organizing such a grand and beautiful programme for Divyangjans. He emphasized on organizing more such programme in the coming days. Eminent social worker Papiya Dutta, social worker Rajeev Ghosh, social worker Samir Ghosh, social worker Purnima Roy and social worker Asim Bhattacharya discussed various new state schemes and Prime Minister’s flagship schemes launched for the poor. Besides, West Tripura District Social Welfare and Social Education Programme Officer Dr. Chandrani Biswas also spoke at the programme, 20 Divyangjans were given walking aids, 5 pregnent mothers were given financial benefits of 5000 rupees under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, 5 lactating women were given a cheque of 2000 rupees under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana. Besides, UDID cards were given to 11 divyangjans. The guests of the programme handed over the walking and other aids to Divyangjan and the mothers.
