Tripura State Rifles has gained its name over the years in ensuring public safety and service to the people. They have not only gained its name in the state but also all over the state for displaying braveness during critical situations, stated Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha while taking part in a Sainik Sanmelan of TSR 2nd Battalion in Jirania today. He said, TSR jawans have been moving forward facing different kinds of dangerous situations and have thus gained trust of the citizens of the state. He said, discipline, orderliness and integrity are the biggest treasures of the TSR. The state government is considering providing further facilities for welfare of the TSR jawans. Three years have already been extended for TSR jawans in case of their retirement. The Chief Minister lauded the TSR for their service to people ensuring everyone’s safety as well as their social work. He also had greeted and interacted with the jawans during the Sainik Sanmelan.

Tripura Police DG Amitabh Ranjan expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister for gracing the programme with his presence and meeting with the TSR jawans on the occasion of 76th Independence Day. He also spoke on how the TSR battalion carries out its operations. Tripura Police ADG Sourav Tripathi and IGP (TSR) Soumita Dhar were also present in the Sainik Sanmelan. Prior to this, the Chief Minister looked around the camp and later had lunch with the jawans. The Chief Minister received a souvenir and a memento from the TSR battalion. The Chief Minister then planted a sapling in the premises of the camp.
