They were reported to have surrendered due to financial problems that the NLFT -Biswamohan group had been facing for the last few years in absence of extortion and abduction opportunities in the state..

In a statement Police said, “Priority of the State Police with regard to anti-insurgency strategy witnessed significant achievement today on 5th August, 2022 with the surrender of 4(four) extremists and 2(two) collaborators along with arms, ammunition and other incriminating documents of NLFT(BM) group. This is yet another success of the Government and State Police”.

“They moved in the jungle areas of Ganganagar, Mungiakami, Ampi and Killa PSs. Sensing their movement inside the State, intelligence based special operations were launched involving TSR and District Police including CRPF and BSF. As a result of which, the group faced hardships to move and even survive in the deep jungle of Baramura Range. Pressure exerted by security forces made them surrender today on 5th August 2022 before Tripura Police”, Police statement added.

From preliminary interrogation, it was revealed that the NLFT (BM) group was reeling under financial hardships and other issues. Moreover, their survival became difficult due to continuous pressure of Security forces in their hideouts inside the State.
