Novak Djokovic secures his 100th French Open win by defeating Cameron Norrie, advancing to the quarterfinals for the 16th straight year. The Serbian legend now faces Alexander Zverev in a high-profile clash as he continues his pursuit of a 25th Grand Slam and a fourth Roland Garros title.

Novak Djokovic added another illustrious milestone to his legendary career on Monday by securing his 100th match win at Roland Garros. The 38-year-old Serbian tennis great defeated Britain’s Cameron Norrie in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-2, advancing to the French Open quarterfinals for a record-extending 16th consecutive year.

In doing so, Djokovic became only the second player in history to reach the 100-win mark at the French Open, joining Rafael Nadal, who boasts 112 victories on the clay of Paris. The achievement also improved Djokovic’s career record at the tournament to a formidable 100-16.

“It’s a very pretty number, but 101 victories sounds better,” Djokovic remarked with a smile after his win. “I will continue to search for another victory. It’s clearly not finished for me here. I’m very honoured to make history in this sport, which has given me everything in my life.”

Djokovic dominated the match from the outset on Court Philippe-Chatrier. Facing Norrie for the second time in as many weeks — having also defeated the Brit on his way to the Geneva title — Djokovic neutralised long rallies and dictated play with precision and poise. After an initial exchange of breaks in the opening set, he swiftly won five of the next six games to take full control.

Norrie attempted to mount a response in the second set by adopting a more aggressive strategy, especially after Djokovic produced a handful of uncharacteristic errors. However, the world No. 1 quickly regained his rhythm and composure, using his trademark depth and variety to shut down any momentum the Brit managed to build. A medical timeout taken by Norrie for a suspected ankle injury while trailing 3-4 further tilted the balance in Djokovic’s favour.

In just two hours and 14 minutes, Djokovic sealed the victory and made history yet again. His perfect run in this year’s tournament — winning 12 straight sets — remains intact. He also became the oldest men’s singles quarterfinalist at Roland Garros since Istvan Gulyas in 1971.

Djokovic now prepares for a high-stakes quarterfinal clash against third seed and 2023 French Open finalist Alexander Zverev. The Serbian leads their head-to-head 8-5, though their most recent encounter at the Australian Open saw Djokovic retire mid-match due to injury.

With momentum, experience, and history on his side, Djokovic’s chase for a fourth French Open crown — and a record 25th Grand Slam title — continues with undiminished intensity.
