NSUI to move High Court for college elections

NSUI , Congress’ student wing has threatened that if college council elections in the degree colleges are not held forthwith it will move the High Court of Tripura.

NSUI state president Samrat Roy said, “nowhere in the Country College elections have been stopped like Tripura. In last four and half years of BJP governance, no college election was held in any Degree College of the state and the student councils are occupied by outsiders, resulting law and order situation in all colleges”. Roy highlighted a recent incident in Kailasahar where two students were allegedly beaten up by BJP’s student wing ABVP in presence of police.

Alleging negligence in the role of present Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha for remaining silent over such situations in education sectors, NSUI declared that it would file a petition at the High Court against the unlawful bar on College Council election.
