Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that government aims at creating a, dispute free, peaceful, Insurgency free and weapon free North East India.  
Shah said this while gracing the Golden Jubilee celebration of Ramakrishna Mission School, Narottam Nagar at Tirap district in Arunachal Pradesh today. Mr. Shah said that North-east India has faced lot of problems since many years but under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, from 2014, these are being sorted out and are solved one by one.
The Home Minister said that for the development of the region in a structured way, the Union Home Ministry has prepared a plan, which has three parts. He said, the first part includes not only the preservation of the culture and diversity of the region, but also to promote it across the country. Mr. Shah said that the second part includes the settlement of all the problems of North-east and give the youth a platform to compete in the international level, and the third is to make all the 8 NE states one among the most developed states in the country.
Hinting that the centre is working on solving boundary issues in the NE Region, the Home Minster said that 60 percent of the boundary dispute between Assam and Meghalaya has been solved peacefully. He expressed hope that the boundary issue between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will be solved by the end of the year 2023.
