Ramakrishna Mission School, Viveknagar, has brought pride to Tripura by achieving a historic feat at the Bharat Vikas Parishad National Music Competition held in Bengaluru on December 16, 2024. The school’s music team secured first place in both Sanskrit patriotic song and Bengali folk song categories, along with third place in the Hindi patriotic song category.
This outstanding achievement marks the first time any school from Tripura has triumphed in three categories at this prestigious event. Competing against strong teams from states like Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra, the students demonstrated exceptional musical talent, making their school and state proud.
The team was guided by music teacher Sukanta Sharma and supported by teachers Swapan Debnath and parents’ representatives Kabir Chakraborty and Jayanta Das. Their collective effort ensured a flawless performance that stood out among the nation’s best.
School Principal Swami Shubhakaranandaji Maharaj praised the students for their dedication and hard work. “This success will inspire our students, teachers, and parents alike to balance academics with arts and culture,” he said.
The team earned their spot in the national event after winning the North-East regional competition in Guwahati earlier this year. Their victory in Bengaluru has not only added another feather to the school’s cap but has also set a new benchmark for schools across Tripura.
This remarkable achievement reflects the school’s commitment to holistic development, encouraging students to excel beyond academics through arts and culture.
