Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, Amit Shah, is set to arrive in Tripura on December 20 for a two-day visit, marking the 72nd North Eastern Council (NEC) Plenary in Agartala.

On December 20, Shah will first visit the Bru resettlement camp at Bruha Para (Haduklau Para) in Dhalai district, where he will inspect ongoing resettlement efforts. Following the visit, the Union Minister will address a public meeting at Masurai Para to engage with local communities.

Later in the day, Amit Shah will participate in the National Cooperative Conference at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, Agartala.

The NEC Plenary session, a key event, will commence on December 21 under Amit Shah’s chairmanship. Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Minister of State for DoNER, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, will also be present. The session will witness participation from Governors, Chief Ministers of all North Eastern states, senior officials, and representatives of Union Ministries.

A Pre-Plenary technical session is scheduled for December 20 at a private hotel in Agartala. It will be chaired by MoS DoNER Dr. Sukanta Majumdar and attended by Secretaries of Union Ministries, Chief Secretaries, and Planning Department officials from the North Eastern states.
