Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha emphasized the state government’s commitment to inclusive development, underscoring its focus on improving the welfare of all communities. Speaking at the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Gold Medal Award and Vidyasagar Socio-Cultural Award event, organized by the OBC Department at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan, Dr. Saha reiterated that inclusive growth remains a top priority.
Dr. Saha highlighted Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s vision of equality and upliftment for all, and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts to realize this vision through various initiatives. He referenced Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s philosophy, which prioritizes reaching the “last person in society,” saying, “PM Modi is dedicated to ensuring these beneficiary schemes reach all, and Tripura is actively implementing them.”
Pointing to Tripura’s significant OBC population, which stands at 24.5%, Dr. Saha stressed the importance of comprehensive progress. “No group should be left behind. This government is for all, and our focus is on development across all communities,” he said. He encouraged students to embrace self-confidence, following Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals of equality.
Dr. Saha also spoke on the state’s progress across sectors under the HIRA model (Highways, Internet, Railways, Airways), a key initiative of PM Modi. He emphasized the government’s transparency, effective law enforcement, and focus on providing a safe environment, particularly for the younger generation. Employment, financial aid, and safety are priorities for the state, he added.
Notable attendees included OBC Welfare Minister Santana Chakma, AMC Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumder, State OBC Commission Chairman Tapas Majumder, and Secretary of OBC Welfare Tapas Roy.
