At the Paris Paralympics, India’s medal hopes will rest on track and field athletes and para powerlifters on the seventh day. The first medal event of the day will take place at 1:35 PM IST with Sachin Khilari, Mohd. Yasser and Rohit Kumar participating in the men’s shot put F46 finals. In Powerlifting, Paramjeet Kumar will eye a podium finish in the men’s 49kg Finals. In Shooting, Nihal Singh and Rudransh Khandelwal will compete in the mixed 50m Pistol SH1 event.
In Archery, Harvinder Singh will face Tseng Lung-Hui of Taipei in the Men’s Individual Recurve Open Round of 32. Moreover, India achieved its best-ever medal haul in the Paralympics as it went past last edition’s number of podium finishes at Tokyo.
India have won a total of 20 medals, that includes 3 gold, 8 silver, and 9 bronze so far. In the meantime, ,India’s paracyclist Shaik Arshad secured 11th place in the Men’s C2 Individual Time Trial, completing the race with a time of 25:20.11 today.
