As part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Biplab Kumar Deb, the former Chief Minister of Tripura, led a series of cleanliness drives across various locations in Agartala. The first event took place at the Anandamoyee Kali Bari temple in AD Nagar. Organized by the BJP 14 Badharghat Mandal, the event saw enthusiastic participation from MLA Mina Rani Sarkar, as well as other leaders and party workers.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the BJP-led government at both the central and state levels has launched the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in celebration of India’s 77th Independence Anniversary. This campaign is designed to instill a sense of patriotism and nationalism among citizens. As part of the initiative, people are encouraged to hoist the tricolor at their homes, offices, shops, and institutions. Additionally, the campaign includes a series of cleanliness drives, underscoring the importance of maintaining a clean environment as a reflection of national pride, according to MP Biplab Kumar Deb.

The cleanliness drives, known as ‘Swachhta Abhiyan,’ were originally introduced by Prime Minister Modi with the goal of making India a clean and green nation. MP Biplab Kumar Deb highlighted the importance of ensuring that areas surrounding national symbols, such as statues of freedom fighters, are kept clean before they are adorned with garlands or before the national flag is hoisted.

Following this, MP Deb participated in another cleanliness drive at the Vivekananda Statue in Agartala’s Sishu Udyan, organized by the Vivekananda Vichar Manch, a unit of the Mazdoor Monitoring Cell. During the event, Deb stressed the importance of not only constructing and inaugurating statues and buildings but also maintaining them throughout the year. He called for regular cleanliness efforts, noting that these should extend beyond the Independence Day celebrations.

Deb also encouraged the public to take part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign by hoisting the national flag at their homes, taking selfies, and uploading them to the official campaign website. He urged everyone to inspire others to join in the celebrations and to take pride in keeping their surroundings clean as a tribute to the nation’s heritage.
