External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar will make suo moto statements in both Houses of Parliament today regarding the situation in Bangladesh. Dr Jaishankar will make a statement in the Rajya Sabha at 2:30 PM and in the Lok Sabha at 3:30 PM.

Earlier in the morning, the government convened an all-party meeting on the issue of Bangladesh. During the meeting in New Delhi, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar briefed the leaders about the ongoing developments in Bangladesh.

In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar appreciated the unanimous support and understanding that was extended in the all-party meeting.   Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, and Union Minister and BJP President J P Nadda were present in the meeting.

Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, TMC leader Sudip Bandyopadhyay, NCP(SP) leader Supriya Sule, RJD leader Misa Bharti, SP leader Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav and T. R. Baalu of DMK were among the opposition leaders who were present in the meeting. Union Minister and JD(U) leader Lalan Singh, Union Minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy, Union Minister and TDP leader Ram Mohan Naidu, and LJP(R) leader Arun Bharati also attended the meeting.
