Major Asian markets in red, European indices show mixed response

 
In Asian markets today, South Korea’s Kospi index fell two per cent, Singapore’s Strait Times index declined over 1.6 per cent, Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped over 0.9 per cent, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng dipped more than 0.6 per cent, and Taiwan’s Taiex ended marginally down. Meanwhile, the market in China remained closed for a holiday. 
 
In European markets, Germany’s DAX was trading over 1.4 per cent down, while London’s FTSE 100 fell more than 0.7 per cent, when reports last came in.
