The state government has taken various initiatives for treatment of critical medical cases along with heart, kidney and neuro related issues, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
After launching state and district level Mission Indradhanush 4.0 at East Jogendranagar on Tuesday, Deb said his government is working with a priority to deliver improved healthcare to the people.
He said, the GBP hospital that suffered a lot due to lack of infrastructure following the apathy of the previous government is now achieving milestones one after another. He cited the recent Open Heart Surgery as an example.
Deb said the state government is implementing various plans to create infrastructure for kidney related treatment so that the people of Tripura don’t have to go outside the state. He also said the state’s specialist doctors and other health staff, who are working outside the state, are responding to the appeal of the government and coming back to Tripura.
Deputy Mayor of Agartala Municipal Corporation Manika Das Dutta, Principal Secretary (Health) J.K. Sinha, MLA Rebati Mohan Das, Director of Health and Family Welfare department- Dr. Radha Debbarma and Managing Director of NHM Tripura- Dr. Siddhartha Shiv Jaiswal were present in the programme.
According to official sources, to strengthen the immunization coverage, the Intensified Mission Indradhanush 4.0 Campaign would be implemented in five districts: three districts- West Tripura, South Tripura and Khowai, identified Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav programme, and two districts- Dhalai and Unakoti identified as state initiative.
Through this campaign, the state is aiming to vaccinate left out children in the age group of 0 to 2 years and pregnant women. The campaign will be conducted in three rounds commenced from Tuesday, each round will continue for seven days. The next sessions will come up in March and April next.
The target under this campaign is 1586 children (0-2 years) and 240 pregnant women. The officials have planned 236 sessions to implement the programme.
An official source said, Tripura made substantial efforts to strengthen the routine immunisation services in the FY 2021-22. Special intervention has been planned and implemented across the state to improve the coverage. During the current FY 2021-22, state has achieved full immunization coverage of 90 percent target population by the end of December 2021.
