Two teachers from Malda Para School braved a 15-kilometer trek on a treacherous, muddy road to ensure students received their mid-day meals. The ongoing rainy spell has rendered the road connecting the remote village school impassable by vehicle.
On Thursday, Anchan Reang and his colleague, both dedicated educators at Malda Para School, faced the arduous journey carrying essential mid-day meal supplies. Undeterred by the adverse conditions, they chose to walk the entire distance. During their trek, they recorded a short video highlighting the road’s deplorable state, which subsequently went viral on social media.
Residents of Malda Para allege that the state government has neglected the road’s maintenance, despite long-standing appeals for its construction. The road’s poor condition has been a persistent issue, severely impacting the community’s mobility and access to essential services.
The teachers’ remarkable effort underscores the urgent need for infrastructural improvements in remote areas to ensure uninterrupted education and essential services for all.
