The “Shakti Swarupa” rally organized by the Pradesh Mahila Morcha at Belonia, in support of BJP nominee Biplab Kumar Deb for the West Tripura Lok Sabha seat, witnessed an overwhelming response from women supporters on Friday.
As Biplab Kumar Deb entered the BKI ground in Belonia, the atmosphere was electrifying with women enthusiastically welcoming the candidate, expressing their strong support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s reelection with the resounding slogan ‘Ab Ki Bar 400 Par’.
The rally was attended by several prominent leaders including Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Pradesh BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee, Mahila Morcha state president Mimi Majumder, and others.
In his impassioned address to the gathering, Biplab Kumar Deb launched a scathing attack on the communists (CPM) and their coalition partner, the Congress. He criticized their alliance, pointing out the irony that while the Congress had once accused the CPM of crimes against women and other issues, they are now aligned together, which he described as a deceptive tactic to mislead the people.
Deb branded the communists as ‘Dhokebaj’ (deceivers), accusing them of betraying the countrymen, particularly women. He emphasized the transformative initiatives undertaken by the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, including the distribution of 4.10 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) over six years, with a significant portion benefiting women. Additionally, he highlighted the introduction of 33 percent reservation for women in various sectors.
Encouraging the women in attendance, Biplab Kumar Deb appealed for their unwavering support in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, urging them to cast their votes for Modi.
Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha echoed similar sentiments, vehemently criticizing the CPM-Congress alliance for lacking genuine issues and forming the INDI alliance solely to safeguard their political existence. He expressed firm confidence that the electorate is astute enough to discern their motives and hinted at an imminent victory for the BJP.
Furthermore, the rally witnessed a notable development as former Congress MLA Dilip Chowdhury and others officially joined the BJP. This move was met with warmth and enthusiasm as they were welcomed by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Biplab Kumar Deb, Pradesh BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee, and other influential leaders present at the event.
BJP leaders says, the “Shakti Swarupa” rally thus encapsulated a fervent display of women empowerment and political solidarity.
