Ending all speculations and long wait, as many as  238 were promoted to TCS and TFS Grade II on ad-hoc basis on Friday. Only recently 56 Inspector of Police had been promoted to the TPS Grade II.
However, on Friday’s promotion to the TCS and TFS Gr II was the largest promotion in recent years.

While congratulating all the officers who have been promoted, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb in a social media post wrote, “State government’s new promotion policy is being effective in filling up critical posts & opening new avenues for more promotions in feeder posts.”
The list of promotions included Block Development Officers, Child Development Project Officers, Cooperative officers, Panchayat Extension Officers and Inspectors in various fields.
“Appointment on promotions are allowed purely on ad-hoc basis subject to final outcome of the SLP pending before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. No inter-se seniority shall be determined/ published in respect of these ad-hoc promotions. This ad-hoc appointment shall not be treated as regular appointment on promotion,” the notification reads.
