The upcoming five-day winter session, marking the third session of the thirteenth Assembly, is set to commence on Friday. The session will kick off with the address by Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu. However, the first day of the session will be dedicated to mourning the unfortunate demise of sitting MLA Surajit Dutta.

Ahead of the session, Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha presided over a meeting of the BJP legislature party at his official residence on Thursday evening. The meeting addressed the strategy of BJP legislators and delved into other pertinent topics to ensure a cohesive approach during the session.

Expressing optimism, Chief Minister Saha conveyed his hope for a successful winter session through a post on social media. He emphasized the importance of cooperation from all members of the Tripura Legislative Assembly and anticipated meaningful discussions on matters concerning public welfare.

During the session, discussions on the Governor’s speech will take center stage, providing members of the House with ample opportunities to express their opinions and concerns. The deliberations are expected to cover a range of issues, contributing to the overall success and productivity of the winter session.

Earlier decisions, as conveyed in the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting, indicate that the winter session is scheduled to continue until January 11. This timeframe allows for a comprehensive examination of various legislative matters and policy considerations during the session. The focus remains on fostering a collaborative and constructive environment for effective governance and deliberations in the interest of the public and the state.
