Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha  has written a letter to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, urging him to facilitate a special train from Agartala to Ayodhya on January 20. The purpose is to allow devotees from the state to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Mandir scheduled for January 22, 2024.

In his letter, Chief Minister Saha emphasized the profound cultural and religious significance of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration for millions of Indians. He described the event as a momentous occasion symbolizing unity, harmony, and the rich cultural heritage of the nation. Noting the eagerness of a sizable group of devotees from Agartala to participate and witness this historic moment, Dr. Saha highlighted that around 2000 pilgrims from Tripura plan to embark on this auspicious journey, commencing on January 20, 2024.

The Chief Minister underscored that the support of the Union Railway Minister in arranging a special train for this pilgrimage would not only foster goodwill among the people of Tripura but also uphold the spirit of unity and inclusiveness represented by the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration.

In a plea for prompt attention to this request, Dr. Saha expressed confidence that the Union Railway Minister’s swift action would contribute significantly to the success of this pilgrimage. He requested the minister to direct the concerned authorities to urgently look into the matter and take necessary steps to arrange a special train service from Agartala to Ayodhya on January 20, 2024, and a return train from Ayodhya to Agartala on January 23, 2024.

The Chief Minister’s letter reflects the significance attached to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir inauguration, not only as a religious event but also as a symbol of national unity and cultural heritage.
