In a strategic move to tap into the burgeoning market potential of Tripura, Nippon & McDonald Steel Industries Limited [NMSIL] unveiled their plans during a press conference held at Agartala College Tilla. The event, organised under the auspices of the India Bangladesh Chambers and Commerce Industry (IBCCI), Tripura Chapter, saw the participation of key representatives from Bangladesh and Japan.
During the press conference, the Managing Director revealed the establishment of a new joint venture company, named “Nippon & McDonald Steel Industries Limited [NMSIL].” This venture was forged through an agreement between McDonald Steel Building Products Limited [MSBPL] of Bangladesh and Nippon Steel & Sumikin Bussan Corporation [NSSB], Japan.
While MSBPL boasts over two decades of experience in pre-engineered steel building construction and established its production facility in 1998, NSSB stands as the core trading entity of the Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation Group, a global steel manufacturing titan.
The primary objective of NMSIL is to operate a state-of-the-art processing centre for flat products, facilitating the manufacturing of high-quality processed flat products. The company aims to engage in trading, export, import, and supply of processed products, raw materials, and related merchandise from leading global manufacturing companies, both within the region and beyond.
Highlighting the friendly ties between Tripura and Bangladesh, Ahmed expressed the company’s interest in expanding its operations in the region and beyond. He emphasised the efficiency and positive consumer feedback garnered by various steel products manufactured by the company. The visit signifies a strategic move to assess the market potential not only in Tripura but also in other northeastern states.
As Nippon & McDonald Steel Industries sets its sights on new horizons, the collaboration signals a promising venture that could bolster economic ties and contribute to the industrial landscape of Tripura and the northeastern region.
