AICC Secretary Szarita Laitphlang announced on Tuesday that Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are scheduled to visit Tripura in the second to third week of December, following the conclusion of elections in five states.
Laitphlang revealed this during a media interaction after an organizational meeting of the party’s women’s wing at Pradesh Congress headquarters in the capital city.
During the meeting, AICC secretary Laitphlang and Pradesh Congress president Asish Kumar Saha were felicitated by the Pradesh Mahila Congress. State Women Congress president Sarbani Ghosh Chakraborty and other women leaders were present, emphasizing the need to strengthen all party wings and frontal organizations equally.
TPCC President Saha stated, “To ensure the strength of a party, all the wings and frontal organizations need to be strengthened equally. The meeting is to focus on the work done by the Pradesh Mahila Congress and also chalk out future plans and strategies in favour of the party and the common people.”
Regarding the impending visit of Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, Laitphlang mentioned, “The dates have not been fixed yet. We are in contact with the office of the senior leaders, and as soon as the election process in five states of India concludes, the dates will be fixed.”
She added that during their visit, the leaders would offer prayers at Mata Tripurasundari temple in Udaipur and address a mass gathering to interact with the public and understand the issues that needed attention.
