Must Read

In Nigeria, at least 23 people have died and 11 remain missing after flash floods struck five communities in Adamawa state’s Yola area. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, OCHA, reported that the flooding, which began Sunday, has also displaced 5,560 people and injured dozens as several neighborhoods in Yola, the state capital, were submerged. Local media reported that over 200 people have died in floods since May, mostly in Niger state. Heavy rains between June and November often overwhelm Nigeria’s poor drainage systems.
