World Refugee Day is being observed today globally. This international day is designated by the United Nations to honour refugees around the globe. The day honours the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. The theme for this year is “Solidarity with Refugees”, which urges people to move beyond words and take meaningful steps to support those forced to flee.
As part of its celebrations, the UNHCR India organised an event at the UNESCO headquarters in New Delhi yesterday.
