World Blood Donor Day was observed yesterday at the premises of Khowai District Hospital.

The President of Work related Standing Committee of Khowai Zilla Parishad Subrata Majumdar was present in the programme as the chief guest.

He said, blood donation is a great deed. He called on youths to come forward in saving patient’s lives. Chiief Medical Officer Dr. Nirmal Sarkar also spoke on the occasion. Superintendent of the District Hospital Dr. Rajesh Debbarma was present in the programme.

A blood donation camp was conducted where 20 individuals have voluntarily donated blood.

Reports from Bishalgarh said, World Blood Donor Day was observed yesterday at the Town Hall located at Office Tilla in Bishalgarh.

A programme was organized on this occasion that was inaugurated by the Chairperson of Bishalgarh Municipal Council Anjan Purkayastha. After inaugurating the programme, he said, donating blood is a noble deed. It must be seen as our social responsibility.

 Additional DM of Sepahijala district Subhashish Banerjee, Chief Medical Officer of the district Dr. Ranjan Biswas and sub-division School Inspector Dipankar Das were present in the programme. Welcome speech was delivered Officer In-Charge of Bishalgarh Sub-Division Hospital Dr. Rajib Sarkar.

he programme was presided over by District Vaccination Officer Dr. Arijit Sinha. An awareness based skit was performed by the health workers on the occasion. A rally was also organized that moved around different roads of Bishalgarh Municipal area.
