The winter session of the Tripura Legislative Assembly would commence from January 5 next for five days. The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting was held here in the legislative assembly on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference on the outcome of the BAC meeting, the state Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath said the session would begin on January 5 with the address of Governor and later the house would be adjourned for a day in condolence to the demise of the sitting MLA Surajit Datta.
The session would continue till January 11 next, he said, adding that this time the assembly session would provide ample scope to the oppositions to put their discussions in the House on Governor’s speech.
“The assembly session is supposed to be concluded within three days of the beginning due to less business, but considering every opposition MLA’s perspective, the BAC meeting decided to continue the session for five days,” he told reporters.
