Tripura Minister Sushanta Chowdhury chairs a preparatory meeting in West Tripura for the Seva Jyoti Yatra, focusing on inter-departmental coordination, public participation and effective delivery of government services and welfare initiatives.
A preparatory meeting was held at the conference hall of the West Tripura District Magistrate’s office to ensure the smooth, organised and successful implementation of the upcoming ‘Seva Jyoti Yatra’ programme. The meeting focused on strengthening coordination among different government departments and ensuring that the objectives of the initiative are effectively communicated to people across the district.
Tripura Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury presided over the meeting and reviewed the preparations for the programme. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on various aspects of the proposed Yatra, particularly its objective of taking the message of public service, welfare measures and government initiatives closer to the people.
Officials and representatives from several departments and institutions participated in the preparatory discussions. These included the district administration, police administration, Agartala Municipal Corporation, educational institutions, health, agriculture, youth and sports, urban development, panchayats, Public Works, Public Health Engineering, forest and social welfare departments, among other concerned agencies.
The meeting emphasised the need for close inter-departmental coordination to ensure that the programme is conducted in a systematic and effective manner. Participants discussed the importance of proper planning, clear distribution of responsibilities and effective implementation of assigned duties at the field level.
Particular attention was given to ensuring coordination among departments involved in public service delivery. The officials were asked to work in a coordinated manner so that activities associated with the Seva Jyoti Yatra can be carried out smoothly and the intended messages and services can reach the targeted sections of society.
The role of public participation was also discussed during the meeting. The participants stressed the importance of encouraging people to actively participate in the programme and cooperate with the administration to make the initiative more effective. The meeting noted that people’s involvement would be important in strengthening communication between the government and the communities it serves.
Minister Sushanta Chowdhury said the central objective of the Seva Jyoti Yatra is to ensure that the benefits of government initiatives and the message of public services reach people from all sections of society. He stressed the importance of keeping people at the centre of government programmes and strengthening efforts to deliver services and welfare-related information at the grassroots level.
According to the minister, coordinated efforts by different departments would be essential for turning the programme into a meaningful public-oriented initiative. He also highlighted the need for effective field-level implementation so that the programme achieves its intended purpose.
The preparatory meeting therefore served as a platform for reviewing responsibilities, identifying coordination requirements and discussing the arrangements necessary for the successful conduct of the Seva Jyoti Yatra in West Tripura.

The minister expressed hope that the collective efforts of government departments, officials, institutions and the general public would help make the programme a successful people-centric initiative. The focus, he said, would remain on service, coordination and public welfare, with the aim of ensuring that government services and welfare initiatives are communicated effectively to people at different levels of society.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on coordinated action, effective planning and active public participation for the successful implementation of the upcoming programme.
