Voting is a sacred right. The Election Commission of India wants every voter to be able to participate spontaneously in a democratic process like voting. The more votes casted, the more successful the election will be. Inaugurating the voters awareness programme at Sishu Bihar H.S School and Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial H.S School in Agartala today, said Dr. Partha Sarathi Mishra, General Observer to Bye election of 6-Agartala constituency. He further said that the aim of the Election Commission is not only to bring one voter to the polling station but also to bring all the voters to the polling station. He said that the Election Commission has taken a programme for the participation of all young men and women in the election process. Therefore, not only the exercise of one’s voting right but also other family members and neighbours should be encouraged to vote. Care must be taken to ensure that no one exercises the right to vote under pressure.
School headmaster Subrata Kumar Bhattacharya was present at the voters awareness programme at Sishu Bihar H.S School. Students and teachers of the school were also present. On the occasion of the awareness programme, quiz and sit and draw competitions on election related issues were held. The four winners of the quiz competition were awarded. Five people were awarded in the sit and draw competition. The guests handed over the prizes to them. Quiz competition was also held at Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial H.S School. Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial H.S School Voters Awareness Programme were attended by the President of the Tripura Board of Secondary Education Dr. Bhabatosh Saha, headmaster of the school Pradeep Mallik, students and teachers. General observer Dr.Patha Sarathi Mishra and other guests planted a tree at the school.
