Opposition Leader Manik Sarkar on Sunday slammed the ruling party for implicating and arresting the victims of recent political violence.

“ Such vendetta and pressure will not succeed to silence and suppress the democratic values and aspirations of the people”, said Sarkar while attending a blood donation camp organized by DYFI at Chhatra Yuva Bhavan in Agartala on Sunday.

“I came to know from a newspaper that cases had been lodged against the people who were attacked in Sonamura and police were arresting the attack victims”.

Sarkar further said that he would not blame police as the police had to pay heed to directives of the higher authority.

In fact, he also did not blame the miscreants who launched attacks on CPM party offices and media houses, instead, he held a section of the leader responsible for such activities. The Opposition leader alleged a section of the leadership to serve their own petty interests incite and mislead the youth.
